Best Wireless solution of small to medium sites
Our organization has a number of remote sites to facilitate sales and marketing. Each remote site has different specifications and requirements. Some of them are large and have a high number of users as well as large coverage areas to be covered to provide network connectivity. At one of these sites, we had a requirement to implement a wireless network solution and we needed something that is reliable and cost-effective yet still easy to set up and manage. All of these needs were fulfilled by Ubiquiti WLAN solution and it has been a great choice for us.

After all, zero problems with your Wi-Fi.
Ubiquiti devices mainly solved problems with the Wi-Fi network. The big advantage is the connection stability and internal roaming.
They also made it much easier to manage the entire wireless network in one control panel.
You can easily view the settings of the entire network without the need to purchase additional licenses.
Ubiquiti WLAN is used across the whole organization.

We use Ubiquiti WLAN to provide wireless solutions to my customers. We use it not only internally, but also it is our "goto" for our clients in terms of a solution. The business problems it addresses, are providing an enterprise level of WIFI, while at the same time, not being overly cost prohibitive. Many small to medium businesses need a solution that is enterprise level to get them off the consumer WIFI solutions that just cannot handle the increase in network traffic.
I find that since some of our customers are nonprofit organizations, such as churches, were finances are always tenative, Ubiquiti WLAN gets the job done, and the cost is manageable.

- Ubiquti WLAN is very easy on setup for fast deployment.
- The monitoring software is offered at different level. Cloudkey, or just throwing up their free controller on a PC somewhere.
- It also does a great job of publishing timely updates to firmware, and addressing bug issues.
- The ease of the interface, without adding a bunch of fluff, makes this literally the best out there in my opinion.
- The reporting of alerts needs to have the same ease as setting up the remote portal access.
- I really wish that I could link it easier to my mobile device and monitor, when I'm not even there. Currently, I have to be connected to the network onsite to view it. Seems counterintuitive.
- There are times I run into slow device adoption with either having to rest devices, or adding new one's to the existing environment.

My Ubiquiti WLAN Review
We have a cloud-based Unifi network controller and have deployed a lot of Ubiquiti [WLAN] devices across many of our customer sites. The controller allows us to monitor, configure and manage all our customer's WLANs from one centralized location that can be accessed from anywhere on Internet. We can easily reboot APs, reset or view wireless passwords, view connected devices, network usage and identify potential issues.

Easy, and free, centralized management.
As a managed Service Provider Ubiquiti [WLAN] is our preferred WLAN product for all customers. The remote management and monitoring features allow us to quickly respond to support requests by seeing the current status of all equipment, all devices attached, and the link status of all connections both wired and wireless. The design of the management console self documents the network which allows techs to quickly review the configuration when working with the client.

Reliable and affordable
We are using these devices to connect two buildings across a parking lot where connecting hardwired would have required trenching through the parking lot and a lot of concrete. We did not want to tear up our parking lot so this was an easy and affordable way to connect the two buildings.

Ubiquiti has been a great product
We are using Ubiquiti across the organization and it was super simple to set up, we wanted to be able to have enterprise ready features but with an easy way to manage everything.

United under Unifi AP
Unifi Access Points are used throughout our company and at most all of our clients that we support - all managed through a cloud-based Unifi controller. Being centrally managed, we can instantly see problems and issues and ensure it is isolated to a single location - or systemic across multiple clients sites. We desperately need a multi-tenant management controller, which Unifi elegantly provides and has provided to the public for years. The platform may not be the best solution for small businesses or home users without the expertise to setup and configure this product.

Enterprise level Wi-Fi at consumer prices
We use Ubiquiti WLAN devices for providing Wi-Fi to all mobile, laptop, and smart devices in our offices. We have multiple UniFi access points dotted around the offices, providing great coverage to every corner of the building, and all of them are centrally managed from the UniFi Controller software that we choose to run on-premises, in a virtual machine. Support for seamless handover between access points, multiple SSIDs, guest networks, VLANs, etc, make for a very robust Wi-Fi solution, and one that is much more reliable than anything we'd used previously.
- The access points are rock solid for uptime. Once configured, they don't skip a beat and you'll forget they're there.
- Excellent range and signal strength.
- Very comprehensive configuration and administration via the UniFi Controller software.
- The Ubiquiti access points look great! Whether wall or ceiling mounted, they are discrete and neutral enough to just blend in with the building.
- Being powered via PoE, it's easier to place the access points where they're most useful.
- Initial configuration of access points can be rather tricky. Each one I have installed was a complete pain to get setup and connected with the UniFi Controller software. I never worked out what causes me problems, but thankfully once I've stumbled through the correct procedure, it does work completely reliably after that, for years on end.
- The UniFi Controller software will nag you to share usage data. When offered to opt-in, I choose not to do so, but you'll eventually be nagged again on a future login.
- Some of the 'tooltips' within the Controller software could be more informative.

Ubiquiti WLAN Review
We deployed the AP-EDU models in our two middle schools - these are the combo speaker/AP units (which they have discontinued support for - less than three years old). We also have rolled out the AP-PRO models in most of the rest of our 18 buildings. We needed to add AP's (we have close to 2500 AP's deployed District wide) to accommodate the increase in technology in our schools.

- Radio settings are incredible (and should be available on any AP)

- Troubleshooting can be difficult - not enough details in logs
- They add/drop features will little notice
- They aren't really Enterprise ready

Ubiquiti is affordable and easy to use
We are using it across the entire organization. This allows us to setup a single SSID that is accessible inside the entire building so devices are able to roam without losing connection. We are also using the Guest network capability so employee phones can get internet access without having access to the main network.

Ubiquiti is a great networking solution for small businesses trying to keep recurring costs down.
A to Z Insurance is a growing insurance and tax services company located in Delaware with several branches all over the state. As part of their IT overhaul, we needed a common wireless network across all the sites that was easily manageable in order to provide guest wifi access.
With a centralized Ubiquiti AWS controller, and deployed Access Points in all the offices we have been able to achieve this with great results. Any time changes are needed even at specific office locations these changes can be done remotely in under 30 minutes. Additionally, the hardware itself provides robust wifi coverage wherever deployed, easily replacing the old consumer-grade wireless routers.

We use Ubiquiti AirMax WLAN devices to link remote buildings on client networks. Generally, we use them in situations where existing WiFi coverage is inadequate or running fiber is either cost-prohibitive or entirely impossible. They are also great for setting up temporary links for events or in case of emergencies such as a cut fiber line on a client campus.
- AirMax devices are very easy to setup as a transparent bridge, which is our typical use case. It's usually a matter of changing the device IPs, making 3 or 4 configuration changes and physically mounting the devices.
- There is a wide variety of AirMax devices that suit many different scenarios. Point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, different radio wavelengths for dealing with different environments/distances.
- Value is excellent, especially on the "low-end" devices such as the (older, but still very useful) loco M900.
- Once AirMax devices are setup, you can basically forget about them. Unless they get zapped by lightning, they just work!
- "Test mode" for applying changes to devices is a godsend. Every network device should do this. Apply a setting, it will give you about 3 minutes to make sure it's really what you want before reverting back to saved settings. Invaluable when dealing with devices mounted 100' in the air that you have no easy access to factory reset for in case you accidentally make a change that knocks them offline.
- Most Ubiquiti devices are 24V PoE, which is the bane of my existence. I have had several devices fried when staff plugged into standard 48V PoE. They generally don't fail catastrophically, either. You just get strange issues that are difficult to diagnose and eventually need to replace them.
- Devices seem to have trouble with many patch cables/switches. Make sure you certify any patch cables you make and don't over crimp.
- Sending devices from the factory with same 192.168.1.20 IP instead of DHCP makes it a pain to bulk-setup devices.

Ubiquiti WLAN: set it up and forget it's there
Ubiquiti WLAN is being used by my current client in their main headquarters to manage and supply wireless networking to their staff and guests. In this configuration, there are users that work with large image and video files in a marketing agency. This means that they require speed and reliability for all of these creative assets.
- Easy setup with clear instructions
- Great mapping tool to help put devices where they are needed.
- Superb testing and monitoring tools to help keep the system running and determine potential problems before they become larger.
- Solid, I have rarely had to make changes on the equipment after it has been set.
- Control software is an application, not web-based.
