Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Formerly Webex Events was Socio application that we are using for hosting town hall meetings inside or outside the organisation. It is very good because it doesn't have any limitation for large no of audience. Allow us to getting surveys & feedbacks during the meetings without any hassle. It gives the simple and easy to use UI where we can handle all the controls of the application. It is good and recommended for hybrid & virtual events.

Pros

Wide of range of features and no limitations for audience.
Easy to host hybrid as well as virtual events.
Gives transparency and realtime insights of the audience.

Cons

Web application is not good as mobile or desktop app.
Limited 3rd party integrations.

It is best for event management team in every organisation because it helps in streamline of the events. It reduce the manual efforts and gives better productivity.

It helped us reach to the wider audience both inside and outside the organization, for the meetings like town hall, connecting to external vendor base etc. The limitations with apps like team or zoom are their reach when it comes to wider audience, WebEx Events solves that very problem for our company.

Pros

It's event management functionality is great, one stop solution for the same.
Can move from physical to virtual format quite easily
Data gathering and insights from large scale meeting are certainly useful

Cons

It's interface needs to be more intuitive, functionality still needs to be searched.
Can add QR generation functionality for one stop signing/registering.
Connections and credentials working with Microsoft office suite would be great.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for Large scale townhall, vendor conference, regional meet ups and event, basically wherever one way functionality suites the best, that is when the organizer has the control over messaging. Not very well suited for one on one meetings, quick calls as other apps have better reach in that segment.

Event management and communications. We use the platform for our organizations marquee events. While we don’t utilize the event platform to its full capacity because we are a small nonprofit it has historically been used to convene our network for hybrid events.

Cons

User friendly back-end event set up. It is very laborious to track, manage, and get users especially those who aren’t tech savvy to sign up for the Webex web app.
Confirmation email for hybrid events where the WebApp is utilized
Integrating streamlined web app and event details on the backend a lot of back and forth with grouping, labeling, and connecting internal links causes fatigue

Likelihood to Recommend

It may be a useful tool for a larger organization who has a staff members or a team dedicated to communications or events management. Not an ideal platform for small organizations.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used the Webex Events app for our district wide day of professional learning. We set it up almost like a mini - conference with all of the sessions and speakers listed for our teachers to be able to view during the day of learning. We also used it to share time sensitive messages to them through out the day.

being able to schedule speakers to more than one room if they were in multiple sessions

The whole process of building the app was smooth and easy to use. Even when I thought that I had messed something up beyond repair, customer service was able to help me get back on track

Our company was a customer of Socio for a several years, using the registration platform for our in person conferences. People who clicked on the register button were redirected to Socio, later Webex after they were acquired, and complete the registration form. The platform tracked number of registrants, and associated ticket sales. It was also used to check in registrants as they checked into the event and received their badges.

A simple to use tool

Easily connected to our badging system

Cons

it was a bit too simple
they moved to an enterprise only option, making it unaffordable for a small company
customer support was lacking

Likelihood to Recommend

Webex Events might work for a larger company that needs some of the other services they provide through their enterprise option. We did not need any of them and because Enterprise was the only option, we had to find another provider. It also might be better suited for larger teams where someone can become an expert user and not have to rely on customer support.

I use Webex Events to tame and centralize what would otherwise be very scattered workflows in my day-to-day. My team and I handle these really big travel expos and partnership summits quite often. These would be a nightmare without Webex Events. I can't even imagine managing these without it.

It has very useful built in engagement tools
uniform branding in webinars

Cons

The sponsor and exhibitor portal is way too rigid. I struggle alot when trying to give the team creative freedom while planning events together

In my experience, Webex Events is usually ideal for large, multiday, virtual or hybrid events where you need clean session management. It is an overkill for small one-off events

This is one of the professional platform for organising employee engagement in our organisation on very large scale. It works in every situations like registering, allocation of resources and audience engagement & analytics. We can promote our brands and sponsor in our events with customised branding using the inbuilt tools. Application ensure robust security & audio/video quality with zero downtime. It is very useful in our HR department for organising the events weekly for active employee engagement.

Cons

User Interface needs modernisation.
More features to be added like adding of quizzes and surveys.

We use Webex Events to host a variety of events (virtual, in-person, and hybrid), offering tools for registration, content management, attendee engagement, and post-event analysis. We reduced event costs and optimized complex logistics on a single platform. We hosted internal corporate events and other interactive meetings, leveraging features like live Q&A, polls, and networking tools.

I think it is very complete, I would only add the possibility of connecting a Cisco device.

In my experience, Webex Events (formerly Socio) is ideal for hybrid events, conventions, expos, and seminars. The platform manages the event from start to finish, encompassing registration, event management, and the metrics dashboard. I can't imagine using it for concerts or musical events. It is also ideal for when you have multiple simultaneous streaming streams.

We are using this solution for organising events in our organisation on large scale. It handle every thing related to events like registering, resource allocation, engagement participation as well as audience analytics. It has lots of customisation options like we can promote our sponsors during the events. Really it is very secure, robust and no downtime. It makes the virtual events superb. It saves lots of money as well as time.
