Formerly Webex Events was Socio application that we are using for hosting town hall meetings inside or outside the organisation. It is very good because it doesn't have any limitation for large no of audience. Allow us to getting surveys & feedbacks during the meetings without any hassle. It gives the simple and easy to use UI where we can handle all the controls of the application. It is good and recommended for hybrid & virtual events.

Pros

  • Wide of range of features and no limitations for audience.
  • Easy to host hybrid as well as virtual events.
  • Gives transparency and realtime insights of the audience.

Cons

  • Web application is not good as mobile or desktop app.
  • Limited 3rd party integrations.

We used the Webex Events app for our district wide day of professional learning. We set it up almost like a mini - conference with all of the sessions and speakers listed for our teachers to be able to view during the day of learning. We also used it to share time sensitive messages to them through out the day.

  • being able to schedule speakers to more than one room if they were in multiple sessions

I use Webex Events to tame and centralize what would otherwise be very scattered workflows in my day-to-day. My team and I handle these really big travel expos and partnership summits quite often. These would be a nightmare without Webex Events. I can't even imagine managing these without it.

Pros

  • Building complex agendas
  • It has very useful built in engagement tools
  • uniform branding in webinars

Cons

  • The sponsor and exhibitor portal is way too rigid. I struggle alot when trying to give the team creative freedom while planning events together

Return on Investment

  • we've seen the biggest Roi as we lean more into hosting hybrid events. The workload goes down by about a quarter
  • The analytics lets me spot opportunity spots then share it with stakeholders

It helped us reach to the wider audience both inside and outside the organization, for the meetings like town hall, connecting to external vendor base etc. The limitations with apps like team or zoom are their reach when it comes to wider audience, WebEx Events solves that very problem for our company.

  • It's event management functionality is great, one stop solution for the same.
  • Can move from physical to virtual format quite easily
  • Data gathering and insights from large scale meeting are certainly useful

Cons

  • It's interface needs to be more intuitive, functionality still needs to be searched.
  • Can add QR generation functionality for one stop signing/registering.
  • Connections and credentials working with Microsoft office suite would be great.
