Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We deploy SecureAnywhere to all of our workstation endpoints for ongoing antivirus and antimalware protection. We also use the browser extension for securing web browsing. We are able to manage all of our clients in one portal, and it also integrates with our RMM software for easy deployment and updates.

Pros

  • Antivirus
  • Browser protection
  • Lightweight agent

Cons

  • Reporting
  • DNS Protection
  • Web GUI

Likelihood to Recommend

Webroot SecureAnywhere is a good solution for those wanting to protect their endpoints from viruses and malware. It also works great for MSPS as you can manage all clients in a single portal. You have the option for DNS protection and web browser filtering as well. This would also work well in any small business.

Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete for End Users

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) in our business for our clients. Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete provides AntiVirus Protection and prevention. It is a good middle of the road choice and value for the money. We have been using this product for about 10-12 years and it has been a good experience.

Pros

  • Anti Virus Protection
  • Scans
  • Malware Protection

Cons

  • Removal of the product
  • Website trusted sites
  • Some features are difficult to find

Likelihood to Recommend

Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) is well suited, for many clients that want protection that does not cost too much. I find it works better on PCs than on a MAC. I like the fact I can set it and forget it. You can do custom Policies as well. There is also a default policy.

Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete, Highly Recommended by Remote Worker

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete was recommended by a software engineer. It has been the most effective antivirus for internet security that I have ever used. My computer looked as if it had been hacked one day, so I shut down the internet and ran a Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete scan. It identified a virus and isolated it. I then contacted my IT group to run a separate scan to verify the virus was isolated and that no other virus was hiding. They confirmed the virus was isolated and had not had time to cause any damage. My IT guys said that they recommend Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete. Downtime for me is a loss of income. Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete is one of the best ROIs when your production time is money. Highly recommend this product!

Pros

  • Frontline protection against viruses.
  • Scheduled scans.
  • Ability to scan at my discretion as well as scheduled scans.
  • Informative reports.

Cons

  • I don't see any need for improvement. I consulted my IT group and they concurred that Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete is solid.

Likelihood to Recommend

Working remotely I require aggressive internet security. Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete has always delivered. One occasion when I started my computer the screen came up black with a face demanding I click a link or my computer would self destruct. I immediately disconnected from the internet and ran Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete. It had already blocked the virus so that no harm could be done. My IT department confirmed that the virus never made it beyond Webroot's security.

Bleak future for traditional AntiVirus products

Rating: 5 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We leveraged Webroot SecureAnywhere as our baseline AntiVirus product, included in the base cost of support of our contract clients. It offered the minimum expected protection per endpoint for catching known threats and alerting PUPs. The product acted as the bare minimum protection for any endpoints which we were expected to support, and sold as a minor improvement over the built-in AV product.

Pros

  • Dashboard/Single-pane-of-glass
  • Many integrations/relationships with other products we use (Managed Service Provider)
  • Additional features in one place such as web filtering

Cons

  • Unified dashboard/management (still has some actions tied to their old front-end)
  • Aggressively improve and market EDR
  • Further improve additional features, namely phish and security training

Likelihood to Recommend

Webroot's main fault is not specific to itself. Rather, traditional AV as a whole is falling out of vogue as Microsoft continues to improve it's built-in/included security features, both at the endpoint and in SaaS products. Third-party vendors like Webroot have an uphill battle to fight in order to stay relevant. Zero-trust is the main buzzword today and likely a bare-minimum addition to the offering in order to maintain relevancy.

Good Product at Good Pricing, But Not the Best In My Opinion

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This product provides threat prevention and detection as well as prevents users from navigating to malicious websites. We use this product on all servers and end-user machines.

Pros

  • Management interface
  • Deployment of solution
  • Integration with different RMM solutions, such as Continuum and Ninja

Cons

  • I wish that you could delete inactive endpoints when you wanted to. I find myself having to filter out inactive endpoints when searching endpoints.
  • I think Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) could improve its malware detection better. Malwarebytes seems to have better detection.
  • Over the years, Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) has made a couple of big mistakes, such as changing something on their end that then accidentally caused one of our business applications to be flagged as malware, which prevented our users from using it.
  • The user friendliness and install on Macs could be more seamless.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Webroot Antivirus + Internet Security Complete (SecureAnywhere) is well suited for any on-premises Windows servers as well as for end-user machines, except for Macs. I would not recommend Webroot for Macs because it is better to install Webroot in person or via screen-sharing instead of by the administrative deployment method. There are a few prompts you have to go through on a Mac in order to install it properly.

Good antivirus that won't slow down your workstation

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We install Webroot SecureAnywhere on all devices, such as servers and workstations. Webroot SecureAnywhere helps products the devices from viruses and malicious activity.

Pros

  • It has a very small footprint
  • It scans fairly quickly
  • It's very unobtrusive

Cons

  • Alerting from the console is lacking some useful options

Likelihood to Recommend

Webroot SecureAnywhere is perfect for business machines as well as personal devices because of its small footprint. The Webroot Console is great to be able to managing multiple devices while being easy to use. There's no need to manage specific scan schedules or custom settings for individual machines because the defaults work on 99%+ of machines. One of the downsides is the Webroot Console has both a new way and an old way to view devices and the new way doesn't have all the same functionality as the old way, so we still have to access the older console views occasionally.

Webroot- A lightweight footprint that stomps malware

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Webroot Antivirus is very lightweight with very little impact on local resources. the browser plugin is very useful and almost never interrupts browsing unless it deems a site dangerous. Generally, it just warns you in the search results about what rating each site has. This has allowed us a sense of security for our users both in-office and mobile as it is managed from a central online console we can reach from anywhere.

Pros

  • Blocks and quarantines known malicious attacks
  • Constantly updated definitions
  • Central console management and full customization

Cons

  • Reseller renewals are easy, renewals purchased yourself are not seamless
  • Upgrading certain hardware on a machine often duplicates the machine in the console
  • Having multiple companies can be confusing if all were not set up through the same reseller

Likelihood to Recommend

I cannot think of where Webroot is less appropriate. For example, I have it deployed in a company with more than 100 endpoints from Servers, production/line PCs, Office workstations, and mobile laptops. I have it deployed at a different company with 25 endpoints. I also have it deployed personally at home for 10. I also have family and friends with 3 to 5 endpoints. So it really is easy to use, deploy, and manage for everyone in all kinds of environments.

It's easy for your antivirus to be agile if it is lightweight!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is used across our entire organization. We use it on a mix of PCs, Servers, and Macs. It is one of the security tools we use in our organization. It protects our machines from viruses and malware. It has proven reliable, easy to install and administer and does not consume as much memory as other products.

Pros

  • Admin console.
  • Lightweight client.
  • Deployment.
  • Monitoring statuses.
  • Conducting remote scans/cleaning.

Cons

  • Has a tendency to randomly duplicate machine names.
  • Once added, machines cannot be deleted, even if they are deactivated and never had a virus incident.
  • Policy management could be improved, it's not intuitive enough how to create/edit them.

Likelihood to Recommend

Webroot is very well suited for being resource-efficient on Windows machines. It is seamless to the end-users as it runs reliably. Even when we set off a remote scan/clean of a machine, the user never realizes this and is not affected by that procedure. On the other hand, it should not be solely relied on in the ever-increasing threat landscape. Add at least another solution. One solution cannot catch everything, unfortunately.

Webroot Review

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have been using Webroot for approximately 2 years now with very few issues and a few problems caught and resolved before they were a hindrance to our business. It is our primary antivirus, and is very easy to use and intuitive to run.

Pros

  • Anti malware, detects and quarantines anti malware using the latest heuristics
  • Anti virus is very light and the web based database keeps the interface clean and light at the end points with a robust back bone to identify threats
  • The live scan and central user interface is a great addition to the software and very integral to identifying issues early on.

Cons

  • I have not seen any issues to date

Likelihood to Recommend

For a small to medium sized business this is a great piece of software to have and is easy to understand and use. I cannot speak for scalability to larger businesses. I believe the price point for smaller businesses might be a factor.
