Simple and effective platform for team collaboration

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Zoom Workplace for virtual meetings and many other uses. It solves the problem of ineffective communication between the employees as most of them are working remotely from different cities. It also helps in client meetings and recording helps in re-collecting the discussions.

Pros

  • Chat, meetings, whiteboard all in one platform
  • Easy scheduling and amazing calendar intergartion
  • Super user friendly easy interface

Cons

  • Occasional server issues
  • Cost heavy for small teams

Likelihood to Recommend

Zoom Workplace really works well for remote teams as they can do quick meetings and it is very easy to use. One place where it can improve is when team needs more collaboration like large file sharing, document editing etc then it becomes less useful.

Great AI features

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My company uses Zoom Workplace as its primary mechanism to streamline communication within the wider organization and bridge the gap between our remote and in-office teams. Zoom is our main meeting tool for scheduled monthly meetings, daily stand-ups or general All hands.

Pros

  • Team Chat channels attached to specific meetings allow continuous communication before and after live calls.
  • Easiness of sharing screen and content.
  • Fairly easy to use, without in app installments

Cons

  • AI Companion - summaries are not always accurate and cause added confusion.
  • The admin controls for who can see summaries can be confusing to figure out, potentially causing privacy issues.
  • The Mobile App is not working for me

Likelihood to Recommend

Personally I use Meeting Chats extensively and unlike other meeting tools, the meeting owner can start a chat before a meeting, share files during the call, and continue the conversation in the same thread afterward. Content doesn't get lost and I don't have to ensure to move the chatter history out before the meeting ends. This is incredibly useful when larger teams meet, specifically when those teams are mostly remote. All meeting information, for example: recordings and AI summaries are automatically pinned to this channel, making it easy to track. The one thing I'd like to see in the AI summaries are more condensed Action Items, to make it easier to read when you have not attended the meeting but still are required to action on a particular task. Sometimes a lot of the context is redundant.

Zoom Workplace is still the gold standard

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Zoom Workplace for clients where the clients use Zoom Workplace, or for situations where I may need to take control of client machines during calls.

In all cases it is primarily for a video meeting calls. The integrations and Zoom Workplace apps are used for extending the functionality.

I also use Zoom Workplace to attend and host webinars.

Pros

  • large range of options for video meetings
  • ability to restrict some of those options
  • remote control of machines

Cons

  • not trying to force paid use whilst using free
  • not forcing AI options

Likelihood to Recommend

great for fully functioning meetings, or large webinars.

Zoom Workplace Review

Rating: 4 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it minimally, more often we use WebEx. I use Zoom Workplace for in other organizations, like anonymous programs, and we use it predominantly for meetings, council meetings, board meetings, and regularly scheduled business meetings. In those meeting several people are attendees and only one or two given administrator rights, with the ability to mute or remove people. Most stay muted while only one at a time shares, and then another shares but only ever one communicating at a time. I would prefer to use Zoom Workplace on all platforms, however one of the corporations I work with uses WebEx, another uses Google Duo or Google Meet, and the third uses Zoom Workplace.

Pros

  • Formatted the ability to see multiple attendees at once
  • chat feature
  • muting capabilities for administrators

Cons

  • Unsure, cost is always a factor

Likelihood to Recommend

When there is a large group of people wherein you'd like to share your screen, walk people through things with voice audibility and screen sharing. I also love this for the ability to ask and answer questions in real time. I would say that Zoom Workplace is unnecessary and less appropriate for small groups of 3 or less, or for groups that could easily meet in person.

Happy using it for around 4 years

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Zoom Workplace for a lot of scenarios, like meetings, team chats, hosting webinars, and even doing tech demos inside the engineering org. It’s also our tool for conducting interviews with candidates, coding questions, etc. It saves us from the chaos of juggling multiple tools and keeps our scattered team connected and sane.

Pros

  • Record meetings to review later
  • Keep track of discussion per meeting
  • video and sound quality during meetings

Cons

  • Adding a sandbox for coding
  • make it easier to find recordings after someone else recorded it
  • copy/paste ids of meetings

Likelihood to Recommend

Zoom Workplace is great for technical interviews when I need to hop into a shared whiteboard to sketch out system architecture or review someone’s code live with screen sharing. It can be less useful when the candidate’s connection is lagging, audio gets noisy during a discussion on algorithms, or the candidate’s connection drops mid answer, killing the flow and making it hard to assess them fairly.

Zoom is an excellent companion to other audio-focused apps for production studios and agencies

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Zoom to meet virtually with our clients during recording and mixing sessions. We can transmit audio in real time from a voice talent to a producer/copywriter and their corporate client simultaneously. We can also playback audio and video while composing music or sound design to picture. This negates the need to constantly post new versions of exported files to cloud transfer sites.

Pros

  • share video files directly from hard drive for playback
  • settings for pro audio users
  • schedule meetings in advance at time of session booking

Cons

  • stop auto muting other users when first-person user begins talking
  • clear list of video files supported for direct payback

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for meeting virtually with clients for pro audio/video sessions. Great as camera for talent while sending separate audio channel for microphone during recording sessions. Great for larger slideshows/lectures with many users present. Will not replace Source Connect as a high bit rate audio data stream for remote voice recording.

Zoom is comparable to all the other meeting platforms

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Zoom Workplace for external meeting attendees that cannot utilize Teams or at the request of certain courts or clients, and our primary meeting platform remains Teams. Zoom Workplace allows us to host meetings on the platform preferred by the client or court and maintain ownership of the meeting for internal security purposes.

Pros

  • Screen Sharing
  • Meeting Scheduling
  • Meeting Chat

Cons

  • Whiteboard
  • Annotation / Ink
  • Co-Hosting with another party

Likelihood to Recommend

Zoom Workplace is well suited for smaller attendance meetings. It is not ideal for webinars or larger meetings and has some limitations on capacity compared to other products.

Overall good just not my favorite

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Zoom Workplace is used when Microsoft Teams cannot be. Overall it's almost exclusively with certain outside contacts, thus the overall use is limited. It works to fill the same gap for video meetings and calls.

Pros

  • Online meeting hosting, video and audio
  • Online meeting live chat
  • Invitation management

Cons

  • The "leave" button is awkward with the double confirmation
  • Highlighting the speaker's video can be uncomfortable as sometimes there is no speaker and it's just the last person's video feed or someone with background noise
  • The buttons seem less than intuitive

Likelihood to Recommend

Zoom is fine for most use cases (as are Google and Teams), but overall I prefer the other two platforms. My preference is not based in performance issues that should give users pause, simply because of the overall interface and experience. I find Teams easier to navigate and Google. I do not like that I have to click to exit a meeting twice, it causes awkwardly long departures and silence right at the end of a call.

Zooming past in-person meetings.

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Zoom Workplace is our primary videoconferencing tool and has replaced Skype. Our largest use case is multi-site meetings, allowing us to meet without meeting at a branch. Ultimately, I use Zoom Workplace, and it suits me every day to stay up to date and in the know about what is happening in my workplace. I would recommend this tool and have been a supporter from day 1.

Pros

  • Videoconferencing on low bandwidth.
  • Price
  • Learning curve is quick.

Cons

  • More customizable features related to the video of the people on the call with you - resizing, etc.
  • When the bandwidth drops it makes the people on the screen smaller.
  • I don’t have any other issues with this product.

Likelihood to Recommend

Based on my experiences, Zoom workplace is very, very well-suited to a modern work environment. It helps connect workers and management and provides face-to-face contact that would otherwise be hard to get. Many employees have expressed gratitude that Zoom is used, as they like seeing the faces of the people they are speaking with, rather than a faceless phone call.

Zoom Workplace is a Great Meeting Tool.

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company has six locations across three states, in addition to the corporate office, and using Zoom is the only way to stay connected with our business operations. Zoom meetings allow anyone needed to "be in the room" and this results in more productive meetings. Sometimes we need to have an immediate unplanned meeting, and Zoom allows us to put one together at a moment's notice without considering where employees are located.

Pros

  • It keeps our recruiting efforts moving quickly for optimal.
  • We can have regularly scheduled meetings no matter where employees are located.
  • Zoom is easy to use, and more employees are inclined to use this platform to schedule meetings.

Cons

  • Some employees have trouble joining meetings at times
  • In meetings sometimes an employee is dropped for no apparent reason.
  • Screen freezing is sometimes an issue

Likelihood to Recommend

As a platform for staying connected with all employees, its overall use is effective. With occasional issues and glitches, it is no worse than any other meeting platform. The number of issues experienced is acceptable given how much is at play with integration, setup, and performance.
