Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting

My organization is using the accounting software; Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, etc. We are pleased with the software. It makes month-end accounting very easy. It is user-friendly.
  • Distribution codes make our month-end process extremely easy.
  • Accounts Payable and Check processing is user-friendly.
  • Reports, such as general ledger reports could be easier to read.
  • The fact that Accounts Receivable and Cash Receipts must be done separately has caused an issue. Sometimes, we receive a check that is partially applied to invoices, and partially assigned to an account number.
  • My organization is non-profit, so there has been no ROI as such. But, the MIP Fund Accounting software has made our month-end and year-end financial statements much easier to prepare. We just completed a year-end audit, and it went very smoothly.
The software does make it easier to use and track multiple funds.
My organization used MAS90 for years. Although we made it work while we were using it, it was definitely geared more toward manufacturing than toward non-profits.
The fact that accounts receivable and cash receipts must be done separately, is an issue. Sometimes we receive checks that are partially applied to invoices, and partially assigned to account numbers, and then they have to be split between accounts receivable and cash receipts. Then, the actual deposits do not match the system.
