Overall Satisfaction with Action1
We use Action1 to handle patching of all of our network connected and remote systems. Action1 handles patching of Microsoft software as well as others, including Adobe, Zoom, and more. It also patches Dell computers with drivers and firmware updates. All-in-all it is a tremendously useful tool for keeping us from needing to manually patch our systems.
Pros
- Patches Microsoft software
- Patches 3rd party software and tools
- Patches system firmware and drivers
- Runs automations to allow continuous patching of certain software
Cons
- Automatic patch approval
- Server patching
- Rebooting during patching
- Has lowered IT spend on man-hours needed for patch compliance
- Has lowered the threat landscape by keeping systems up to date
- Has improved confidence in system compliance and readiness
Action1 is a similar but less feature-filled product than ConnectWise or Kaseya. However, Action1 can fulfill the main use-case scenarios of both products at a much lower cost per endpoint. Action1 is also constantly innovating and working with its users to improve upon the product and deliver value. While Kaseya has been the best of these I've used, I would recommend Action1 for small to medium businesses and Kaseya to enterprise customers.
