Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

Typically we utilize Adobe Acrobat for viewing PDFs. However, in my function I've also used it to edit existing PDFs whenever necessary. We've tried using other PDF readers like Foxit, but Adobe Acrobat is by far the leader in PDF readers and editors. The ability to integrate with the entire Adobe creative suite is what makes it stand out.

Pros

  • View PDFs
  • Edit PDFs
  • Fill out PDFs

Cons

  • Less integration with AI
  • Fewer "smart" examples or pre-fills of data
  • Force windows to use opening Adobe Acrobat as default rather than opening PDFs in a browser
  • the simplicity of the app helps save time
  • the auto sign feature saves a lot of time
  • Editing and OCR works pretty well, even on scanned document PDFs
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
By far the single most important factor for our company to use Adobe Acrobat as our default PDF reader is the simplicity and ease of use of the system. When opening a PDF to either just read or to do a quick fill-in of data or a signature, it shouldn't be complicated. With Adobe Acrobat, it's simple, and that works best for our organization.
We've had no worries or issues when it comes to security and compliance, which has been both great and lucky. The fact that Adobe Acrobat takes security and compliance so seriously allows our business to focus on other issues, trusting that this product will be compliant with whatever task is needed.
Foxit PDF reader, while less expensive, comes with an whole slew of issues. Typically our users of Foxit (a small subset) complain about issues such as the reader crashing and needing to reboot their device, or simply not opening at all (and again, needing to reboot their device). We have not received any complaints about Adobe Acrobat in these areas.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Adobe Acrobat is great for viewing and signing (or even filling out) PDFs. When working with any type of legal document, or document that you typically do not want to have edited, PDF is the way to go, and Adobe Acrobat does a really good job of accessing these documents. With Adobe Acrobat Pro, I'm able to go that one step further and edit, even though PDFs are typically made to not be able to do that.
