Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

PDF checks, OCR, and accessibility checks

Pros

  • Open PDFs
  • Give basic accessibility reports
  • fast auto-tagging

Cons

  • OCRing documents in bulk fast like ABBY reader
  • Remediation has a learning curve compared to other products
  • OCR and conversion of handwritten math equations (like mathpix)
  • OCR conversion of handwritten notes
  • Ease of Use
Ease of use. Adobe created the PDF standard. It's preferred to use Acrobat to view the PDFs.
I primarily use Acrobat for most PDF related tasks. While I have use Express for light PDF tasks, I mainly stick to Acrobat because when you start the desktop app, you have access to the full tool set. While Express is very convenient when you are on the move, I will move towards Express for smaller and exploratory PDF related tasks.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

It excels at OCR of simple documents. It currently is not suited for scanning and OCR converting many PDF documents in a very fast manner such as similar products like ABBY reader. It would be great it could make use of additional CPU or GPU performance from newer hardware to speed up certain processes like OCR.
