Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

We use Acrobat Reader to view documents sent to us from our partners and also whenever we scan in documents using our Xerox copiers, we save them as PDF files because its the cleanest and most compatible format when you need to share those documents with others. if we have a document that needs to be shared with a partner company we always convert it into a PDF file because it's the most compatible.
  • Adobe converts documents into a shareable format easily.
  • Adobe keeps document sizes small so they can be emailed.
  • Adobe Acrobat makes sure documents can be opened on a computer or a phone or tablet.
  • Adobe could be better at automatically OCRing documents when you can them in, because you had to do that as a second step usually.
  • Adobe Acrobat seems to have updates almost every week to fix something, they could probably update once every 3 months and be less intrusive about it.
  • Adobe Acrobat adds add-ons to chrome and IE browsers and always asks if it should be the default program for PDF files, it would be nice if it didn't ask every time.
  • It is a free product.
  • it is highly compatible with all computers, phones and tablets.
  • it works with the scanning function on our copiers.
  • Because it is a free product, it has had positive ROI for us because of the zero cost.
  • It is also positive for my business because it works with the copiers we already invested in, so we don't need to change out any equipment to work with the copiers or scanners we have.
  • There is a slight negative impact in that there are constantly almost weekly updates to the Adobe Acrobat product, and the users are always asking if they should do the upgrade that keeps popping up, which can cause extra work for the IT staff.
Adobe is the gold standard for PDF editing and creating, with great browser integrations and also cross compatibility across windows and Mac computers, it works everywhere. It also works on all phones, both iOS and Android devices, as well as tablets too, so its really universal and will make files that work on any device. Most of the other PDF products i tried do not work on phones or tablets, and most do not work on Mac's either.

Acrobat Reader DC is great because it is free and it lets you read documents scanned in on a copier in a highly compatible format that anyone on a computer, phone or tablet can read. It also adds add-ons into most web browsers to allow you to view PDF files right from the internet easily too. It is not as well suited if you need to convert a file into a PDF but make it so that you can edit the file later.
