Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate Prime
We are using Adobe Captivate Prime to house our training collateral. Currently Adobe Captivate Prime is being used internally by one department, but we have plans to open it up to other departments. Our training department is relatively new, about 3 years old, and we realized that we need some way of housing our training content and recording attendance. After reviewing a number of LMS systems, and talking to three companies, we decided on Adobe Captivate Prime, we felt it best fit our needs. We were already using Adobe Captivate to create courses, so it worked to use Captivate Prime for the LMS. We also use Adobe Connect to deliver our trainings, our company is remote, so all training is delivered remotely. Currently our plan is to use Adobe Captivate Prime for internal employees only, down the road, we may decide to open it up to customers. At this point, we've been using it for almost one year, and are starting to add even more content to our site.
- Works well with Adobe Captivate.
- Easy to set up a course, and update as needed.
- Allows us to use content in more than one course, I like that we are building our content library.
- We have spent time trying to create Learning Plans and Learning Programs. I know they will work, took us time to work on that though.
- Would like an easier way to have courses reviewed, or if there is, an easier way to get others to review courses.
- Would be nice if you can create a quiz inside of Captivate Prime. Currently we use Captivate or SurveyMonkey for our quizzes.
- We're fairly new, but have already found it good to have everything in one place.
- We've started to be more organized in training our staff, especially new staff.
- We are beginning to keep records of who took training and sharing it with HR.
We haven't worked directly with a Customer Success Manager during our implementation. However, the sales person we worked with was very helpful during the purchasing process, the communications we got after purchasing were all very good and helpful. We were able to set everything up very easily and quickly based on the communications.
We liked that Captivate prime worked well with Captivate and Connect. We wanted something that would grow with us. After demos and testing three systems, we really liked how Adobe Captivate built courses and created the Learning Portal. It was also important for us that the system was SCORM compliant, and Captivate prime is.
Adobe Learning Manager Feature Ratings
Using Adobe Captivate Prime
100 - We have trainers, developers, operations, and Human Resources using Adobe Captivate prime at this time. Our trainers and developers are the people creating and facilitating courses. The Operations staff are those who do our work, third party payer solutions. Our HR staff is begining to use Adobe Captivate Prime for onboarding of new staff. We are relatively new to Captivate Prime and are in the process of growing our site.
2 - Knowledge of Adobe Captivate Prime, knowledge of Adobe Captivate and other software used to create documents, presentations, etc. Our staff that support Captivate Prime are more technical than our trainers, have some graphic knowledge (for course design), and knowledge of our work to help build and organize our training collateral. We require staff to be self starters and able to think fast.
- New hire onboarding
- Training current staff on our system
- Soft Skill training for staff
- Share a set of videos to staff
- Track staff and assign training as needed
Evaluating Adobe Captivate Prime and Competitors
- Price
- Product Usability
- Product Reputation
We wanted to use Adobe Captivate, Adobe Captivate Prime and Adobe Connect. We like having the Adobe suite of products.
I may have also looked at other content creation software, like storyboard. We had a list of specs we wanted in an LMS, and Adobe Captivate fit that list very well.

Adobe Captivate Prime Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - Since we didn't move from another LMS, we didn't have much change. The issue we have is getting staff used to using the LMS.
