Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

On a weekly basis we work on a lot of marketing collateral, from physical printed handouts, to social media posts, to online advertising. We run through a lot of various scenarios where we need images of all different situations and types, and using generative AI really helps speed up the process of getting close to exactly what we're looking for. Firefly generative AI helps us to quickly search for options for new creative that more fits what our design scope is.

Pros

  • Generates creative content in seconds
  • Gives a decent amount of options from the content to choose from
  • Allows us to get very specific with creative requests inside the graphics

Cons

  • The amount of images you receive isn't always robust
  • Sometimes there's minor issues inside the image that are just plain weird
  • You have to still do some minor editing on images that come in
  • Saves us major time versus searching stock photography
  • Most of the time gives us exactly what we need with little editing afterwards
  • Will tend to cause headaches when graphical glitches keep coming over
For the most part, Adobe Firefly does exactly what we need with little headaches. It really does save time over searching through banks of stock photography for a picture that only 70% meets your needs. We all know AI isn't perfect, but it does a pretty good job overall for us.
Adobe Firefly works pretty similar to what we also use in Canva. Canva's AI graphical generation also works fine, but we tend to use Firefly more because we feel it gives us more options that are closer to our scope and needs. We use both because we're active in both programs.

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

Yes

Adobe Firefly is best used when you're looking to save time on finding a quick, distinct graphic creative piece without having to spend hours searching through stock photography. It isn't best suited when you're having to go back and do major touchups to the image because it couldn't quite get close to what you want and/or the AI generated image contains glitches.
