Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly
I use Adobe Firefly to help bring ideas to life. I use it to prove out high-level creative strategies (instead of searching the internet for examples) and bring products to life that currently aren't in market. The scope is usually on the front-end concept stage NOT the final stage. We find that we prove out the concept and then acquire the budget to go out and actually execute the work. (Although, if a client is on a tight budget we may look to Firefly to help with product visualizations.) The business problem it solves: bringing something to life in a high-res way that would normally just be sketched out or using reference imagery from existing work to prove the point. It helps concepts feel more real so that clients can make well-informed decisions. It helps the creative team save time as well which is of huge benefit in the creation process. The tweaking functions that it offers also make it much better than other Ai tools. Being able to tweak the composition or use reference imagery is helpful and being able to change the ranges for each as well is a benefit.
Pros
- Visualizing New To The World Concepts
- Taking Composition references for creation
- Creating life-like (enough) imagery
- making the Gen Ai experience more user-friendly
Cons
- Editing on the back-end (it'd be great to have pieces editable in Photoshop or Illustrator)
- Although life-like, you can still tell it is Ai
- a more intricate range of photography styles
- It hasn't been integral or impactful enough to really warrant a super meaningful response here.
- It has increased our quality on concepts by like 60%, hugely beneficial to our creative team
MidJourney gives you specificity and real-life but it is really hard to use and you have to invest a lot of time to be effective. Dall-E is pretty shitty and doesn't create anything life-like and it doesn't understand prompts very well.
Firefly is a middle-ground between both and it makes it really usable which is a huge bonus.
