Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

Have used it to create backgrounds and lifestyle imagery for social media content.

Pros

  • searches library of stock assets based on key words
  • removes and fills backgrounds
  • analyzes written prompts

Cons

  • humans do not look realistic
  • sometimes minor flaws like extra fingers or crossed eyes
  • creating lighting effects like bokeh
  • Saves me about 5-10 min per background removal
It is quite good at reading the prompts, and Adobe also offers free webinars and workshops about writing good Gen AI prompts. There is a wide variety of assets to choose from, and there are also a lot of examples and community articles to draw inspiration from. However, it still needs some more work to look realistic and be applicable in business situations.
Adobe's Gen AI features are far more advanced than Canva. There is more user direction towards how to use the product successfully in terms of their community articles and webinars.

Do you think Adobe Firefly delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Firefly's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Firefly live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Adobe Firefly go as expected?

No

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

No

I think it is not very applicable for creating photography with human subjects because of how unrealistic the people look, and they often have random errors like missing fingers or an extra eye. The people often look very obviously generated by AI, so I would not want to post it on an ad that's meant to go towards consumers. I think it is good for removing backgrounds, expanding backgrounds or using generative fill. It is a good add on to Photoshop and other Adobe applications where you want to perform an action quickly rather than doing it manually.
