Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Marketo Engage
We use Marketo for all outbound email marketing campaigns, web forms, webinar event invites and tracking, and web activity tracking. We also use it to build our marketing database and create lists of customers for segmenting marketing campaigns and for export to use in external calling and outreach campaigns with our dedicated business development team.

We use Marketo to send information to our customers and prospects regarding the services we offer, new tools we develop to save time and resources and communicate case studies to make customers consider alternative ways of handling the complex jobs we deal with. Marketo is effective at helping us communicate these objectives and get us visibility into how that outreach is being received by customers.
We selected Marketo over Pardot because we moved away from Salesforce and Pardot didn't work well when not connected with that CRM. Marketo is better as a standalone product, and it is easier to use when it comes to campaign design and development. The user interface feels better but it has been a while since we used Pardot so that may be improved.

Marketo is well suited as a medium-level email marketing tool where you need to get basic emails out using their templates or customizable modules. Trying to use complex graphics and custom templates can cause issues in my experience. Tracking web activity is fine but could use some work with being able to drill down on reports, and easing the visibility of web activity metrics for specific accounts or contacts.
