Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

We use AlphaSense regularly to conduct company/industry research. I primarily use it to review and analyze transcripts, filings, and broker research. The usability and various features make the product standout from peers. In particular, the smart search feature is excellent, and makes it extremely easy to sort through a large amount of information quickly. I also find the Notes function very useful to gather findings in one centralized place. The AI-based summaries of earnings calls are great when looking to get a quick snapshot for a company's quarterly call.
  • Smart search functionality
  • Great interface with easy ability to navigate between documents/transcripts
  • Access to aggregated broker research
  • It is not very easy to do searches across a specific industry rather than one company (requires use of advanced search functionality)
  • Can be a slow load time for long broker research reports
  • Increased efficiency
The ability to quickly move between transcripts/research is excellent, as is the previews generated of excerpts around search terms, and really increases efficiency/ability to find what you are looking for. The advanced search functionality is more challenging to use, and can some times be difficult to figure out how to set the exact parameters you are looking for (however, once you have the search in place, it is easy to amend)
I have not heavily relied on AlphaSense's alerts functionality, however, the smart summaries provided both at the company level and for specific transcripts is very helpful.
AlphaSense's smart search functionality is a huge differentiator versus these peers, particularly its ability to easily search through broker research (versus just filings/transcripts). In addition, AlphaSense makes it much easier to review multiple documents at once, and the highlighting/notes function (and ability to save notes/highlights) differentiates it. Obviously Bloomberg, FactSet, and Eikon have a broader set of capabilities (stock performance, consensus data, valuation, etc.), but for the areas that AlphaSense focuses on, it is much more intuitive/user-friendly.

Do you think AlphaSense delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

AlphaSense is excellent for reviewing and analyzing transcripts, filings, and broker research, particularly for understanding how companies are talking about key topics or trends given the smart search functionality. While the advanced search functionality is a bit tricky to use/slightly less intuitive, there are a number of good filters to help find specific examples/instances. I have not used it for news/media coverage so I cannot speak to how robust it would be there compared to other tools.
