Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

I am often tasked with updating leadership with the latest and greatest in terms of competitor inflection points. I'm able to find everything I need in terms of earnings, new data, future outlook and analyst commentary. This helps when, separately, I am putting pieces together and creating landscapes for portfolio strategy.

Pros

  • Collate material based on key words
  • Have a wide sample of disclosed materials
  • Contains tools to refine searches so I can find what I need fast

Cons

  • It would be helpful to be able to collapse the summary of results column
  • Deeper competitive insights
  • Crucial Data Found
  • Stronger strategies
I have evaluated many competitive intelligence platforms. I can say for an early-stage company, AlphaSense hits many marks with analyst reports of early-stage/private companies, as well as those for public companies, and their earnings reports and press releases. In terms of industry-specific materials, what AlphaSense lacks is a repository of active drugs in development.
We've been able to maintain a nearly real-time pulse on what competitors have released, and been able to contextualize these movements with the industry at large. It is also helpful to have access to analyst reports and receive those reactions and analysis quickly after these disclosures happen. It keeps us nimble, adaptable, and able to make strategic decisions quickly.

Do you think AlphaSense delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

AlphaSense is great when you have an idea of a field already and need specific detailed information. In some cases I'm able to get a broad lay of the land when I find a good analyst note. However, AlphaSense is not a useful competitive intelligence tool when I want to know all the drugs made for a particular indication immediately. For that I would use something akin to GlobalData. However, if the question is how many patients has this group treated in a clinical trial over the last year, I can piece that together using AlphaSense's collection of publicly disclosed documents for that company.
