Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

My organization uses AlphaSense for background research into public companies. We use the platform for both overall financial, analyst reports and recent new/events to gain better background research as part of an account planning process. We also use AlphaSense to get a better understanding of certain accounts before customer meetings.

Pros

  • Summary of press releases/documents using AI
  • Access to analyst reports and earnings calls with summaries
  • Quick overall view of sentiment analysis of companies through specific keywords

Cons

  • Light on the financial analysis (compared to other competitors)
  • Training is needed for some of the more complex functions/searches
  • Financial projections from historical data is lacking
  • Efficiency in the account planning process (at least 2-3 hours saved per account)
  • Stronger understanding of customers through sentiment analysis
  • Broader content sources with analyst reports and AI search/summaries at your fingertips
AlphaSense is definitely a leader with regards to consolidating all the information from public sources as well as analyst reports so that a user can easily access all this data in a much shorter amount of time. The only room for improvement would be to augment all this data with more financial data as well so that a more holistic view of the company can be formed in one platform.
AlphaSense is a great platform at providing AI-enabled summaries and insights from publicly available sources such as earnings calls, analyst reports, press releases, etc. This has helped colleagues at my company get a much better sense of evolving trends that are affecting our customers as well as how specific terms have been used at the company in publicly available documents over a period of time (i.e. last 3 years).

AlphaSense is well-suited to sift through a lot of data in the least amount of time, including press releases, analyst reports, 10-K or 10-Q filings, in order to find specific themes or key search terms that are relevant to your company (i.e. digital transformation, digital investments).

This platform would be less used to do financial analysis over the past 5-10 years and financial projections consolidation, which some competitors are more well-known for.
