Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

Alteryx is used heavily within the FP&A team in our organization helping to create more dynamic datasets and bring more control over the data closer to the end users that are then serving the rest of the firm.

  • Allow for standardization across disparate data sources
  • Speed up and replace slow or especially difficult Excel processes
  • Ability to run specific aspects of a workflow instead of the whole thing
  • Replaced complex processes in less well-suited systems
  • Simplified and automated monthly processes

The tool-based design process helps to take something that is inherently difficult for non-technical individuals (database design and management) and makes it accessible to all users with even basic familiarity with Excel or other more commonly used programs. This reduces strain on IT resources and makes individuals more self-sufficient and capable of responding to targeted questions.
Please note that I have had no interaction Alteryx support.
Alteryx shines in helping our team to combine data coming from multiple different sources into one standardized dataset that can be used in several downstream processes. It is also very efficient at running calculations that can quickly overburden [Microsoft] Excel workbooks.
It is less appropriate for use when trying to create a finalized product. We often use Excel or Tableau for completed products that use outputs from Alteryx processes.
