Overall Satisfaction with Amazon Aurora

We are using Amazon Aurora (Postgres) for Mission-critical databases.
  • Less replication latency across clusters in Global database
  • Less overhead for DBAs
  • Anybody can manage Aurora, no need to specialist DBAs
  • Aurora must provide active-active (like DynamoDB tables), that is, able to write in multipe regions/masters
  • Should cost less
  • Aurora Global Cluster
  • Aurora Regioanl Cluster
  • with less time on maintenance and less number of networking/storage operations, we could spend more time other application stuff
  • we have to setup manual replication for multi master/region writers, because of lack active-active regional databases
