Overall Satisfaction with Amazon Aurora
We are using Amazon Aurora (Postgres) for Mission-critical databases.
- Less replication latency across clusters in Global database
- Less overhead for DBAs
- Anybody can manage Aurora, no need to specialist DBAs
- Aurora must provide active-active (like DynamoDB tables), that is, able to write in multipe regions/masters
- Should cost less
- Aurora Global Cluster
- Aurora Regioanl Cluster
- with less time on maintenance and less number of networking/storage operations, we could spend more time other application stuff
- we have to setup manual replication for multi master/region writers, because of lack active-active regional databases
