Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using native Amazon Aurora for several customers in his version of MySQL and postgres.

We use Amazon Aurora for Wordpress insatance in E Commerce portals

It's a AWS managed DB well supported

It's an standard DB

Return on Investment

The cost is no too bad as this reduce the time for support

I really love the failover feature. Before Amazon Aurora this was a manual process and full of scripts. Now Amazon Aurora do it automatic.

The best part is the failback. Before Amazon Aurora this process requires a re-sync the DB

Alternatives Considered

EDB Postgres Advanced Server, MySQL and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)

All those products are very similar. the difference is the interface, the support and the API available for deploy the service.
The main difference is cost

I really like Amazon Aurora for use as an db for an instance of Wordpress.

I think the performance is really good especially when you use it in a transactional use case.
