Overall Satisfaction with Amazon Web Services

We have a software SaaS company. We use Amazon Web Services S3, EC2, domain hosting and other services.

Pros

  • storage
  • compute
  • startup credits

Cons

  • customer support
  • billing
  • notifications
  • user management
  • Amazon Web Services went down for 24 hours. So our business had to shut down for 24 hours
In our experience, login is really bad. If someone leaves, or is overseas, or loses there password, or their phone breaks then, in our experience, it is impossible to login again. I've been trying for over 24 hours. Spoken with 6 people, spent 5 hours on the phone, about 15 emails, Amazon Web Services still can't sort it out for us. Most companies like banks ask a few security questions on the phone then you are back in immediately. In our experience, Amazon Web Services only has 2 ways of getting in. But, in our experience, if they dont work for whatever reason, then it is all over. We have had to shut down our software SaaS startup for 24 hours as we can't get into Amazon Web Services and it is not working for us.

Do you think Amazon Web Services delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Amazon Web Services's feature set?

Yes

Did Amazon Web Services live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Amazon Web Services go as expected?

No

Would you buy Amazon Web Services again?

No

In my opinion, Amazon Web Services is not suited for non-technical users and rapidly changing startup. In our experience, if your CTO leaves, or is away, even if they have your email and phone and other information for security checks it is impossible to log in.
