Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
EY is a Global Anaplan strategic partner. We implement Anaplan throughout our various sectors. Customers don't want to plan in silos, they want to be able to connect their plans across various business units and departments. The goal is not to produce static budgets. The goal is to be able to predict how their business and financials will perform under certain micro and macroeconomic factors so that they can quickly react. The Anaplan platform offers this functionality and flexibility.
- Real-time/instantaneous calculations. The ability to see the impact of your submissions in real-time.
- Ease of use for both end-users and administrators. No programming language is required.
- True multi-tenant cloud provider. Everyone is always on the latest release.
- Anaplan is excellent at Consolidations, Reporting, Analytics, Modeling, and Forecasting across many use cases.
- Time to deployment is much faster with Anaplan.
- Workflow is one area that Anaplan could improve. I believe they are targeting a new release in Workflow later this year.
- Anaplan has made great strides to improve performance and scalability. They will need to continue down this path as data and metadata volumes are constantly increasing. Take, for example, a customer with over 250,000,000 SKUs. The new calc. engine that they will be rolling out will be a game changer for Anaplan.
- Time to deliver is shorter than most EPM tools.
- Ease of implementation and maintenance.
- Fits well with agile program management. Customers can receive value immediately following a sprint.
- Anaplan is often 2x to 3x faster to implement compared to other EPM competitors providing a faster ROI.
- The Anaplan solution focuses on driver-based connected planning allowing organizations to pivot quickly as macro and microeconomic variables change. Changes can be made at all levels of the organization with real-time visibility for Leadership.
- OneStream™, Planful (formerly Host Analytics) and SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation)
Planful offers a great solution, however, they have significantly underperformed on their annual growth rate. The solution has a lot to offer, however, it is split across two solutions and is not True connected planning.
OneStream is growing on a fast trajectory and has an excellent workflow built into the system. The downside is it is a technical solution leveraging VB (an outdated coding language) and requires a heavy amount of configuration compared to the ease and simplicity of Anaplan.
