Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian JIRA

We use JIRA for project management. It has helped us tremendously with release management and Production support. We utilize the greenhopper module as a complement to our AGILE methodology.
  • The GreenHopper plug in is great. When it comes to project management, JIRA 6.2 does a great job of managing our daily scrums and showing us a very clear overall picture of project status.
  • We also use JIRA for production support. It has a functionality in place where a user can hook a shared mailbox to JIRA then transform any email to a JIRA issue. This is great when trying to keep track of your support metrics.
  • Overall reporting in JIRA is a plus.
  • Aside from the very easy-to-use GUI, JIRA lacks some customization opportunities. For users who do not know how to Program, the JIRA out-of-box does not offer much for customization.
  • Production Support metrics can be easily tracked.
  • With the right use of the JIRA dashboards, you can easily plan for the next sprints.
Outside of being mandated company-wide, I love the robustness of JIRA. So far I have not come across a project management obstacle that JIRA has not solved for me.
When it comes to Project Management, my go-to tool will ALWAYS be JIRA. From base developers to senior management, the tool is very easy to use. If you are looking for a tool that easily tracks project status as well as a great compliment to any development methodology, JIRA is it.
