Overall Satisfaction with AutoCAD LT

AutoCAD LT is used in my organization to draw blueprints of machine parts and plant layouts. These drawings are helpful to both R&D Engineers and Supply Management as they help assess purchasing of tooling and the shipment to the plants that have the space for the increased volume of work.

Cons

  • Functionality with Adobe CC
  • 3D Environment is missing
  • Updates are hard to keep up with
  • Increased awareness of accuracy in drawings
  • Accurate measurements/dimensions to help with purchasing
For 2D drafting, it gets the job done.

AutoCAD LT is well suited for entry-level jobs such as a 1st year design engineer or intern. I would not recommend the software to a veteran in the field as they should be using more robust software for their line of work.
