Overall Satisfaction with Automox
On or off the network, doesn't matter. Rapidly patch OS and 3rd party products using ring deployment and patching age-based scheduling, deploy configuration changes, and enforce software across Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. With clever use of the API and scripting, other endeavors such as auditing configurations, running diagnostics, ad-hoc fixing well-known issues and even network isolating devices is achievable.
- Fully automated patch management with little experience required to stand up.
- Run PowerShell or bash script rapidly.
- Activity log captures rich history of all patching and policies run on devices.
- Internal administration and device history and logging.
- enable native support for 64-bit execution of PowerShell.
- Extend device targeting to include software inventory of device.
- Patching policy that doesn't require constant modification or maintenance.
- Worklet policy to enable PowerShell and bash scripts across Windows, Mac and LInux.
- Activity log to have instant visibility on what is running and when.
- Increasing monthly patching efficiency from 20% to a consistent 88% with little to no effort.
- Enabling the helpdesk to complete more than 100 tasks remotely at the push of a button.
- Creating a predictable patching schedule that more business users can get behind.
I've used Group Policy, SCCM, Chef, Puppet, psexec, Ivanti, and PDQDeploy. The big lifters like SCCM, Chef, or Puppet enable more complex and refined configuration management. They also require a lot more knowledge to manage let alone at least some understanding of the infrastructure. Automox was that turn-key type solution that was also intuitive enough for anyone coming in from those tools to hit the ground running. Even more interesting is how quickly newer associates adopt and start using Automox as opposed to other tools. I've watched individuals train for more than a week on SCCM and Puppet and still struggle to complete basic tasks. If you have the time, technical skillset, and money to achieve a highly scalable solution, then go with an enterprise solution. Automox however is superior for companies that have either lost their way due to complexity or those doing a green build.
