Auvik Review
Overall Satisfaction with Auvik
Auvik keeps us abreast of the networks we manage. We get stats on firewalls, wan connections, ESXi hosts, switches, and other connectivity. Notifications on a WAN connection going down lets us investigate with the ISP right away on outages. High utilization of switches and ports lets us know if a workstation or server is going haywire.
Pros
- WAN connection monitoring
- Mapping networks
- Switch utilization
- ESXi host monitoring
Cons
- SNMP connectivity with Fortinet Access Points
- Showing port connectivity from switch to switch
- Drawing the map of networks
- Want monitoring
- Switch monitoring
- ESXi host monitoring
- Pulling additional devices into IT Glue
- Well priced for features
- Easy to onboard a new client
- Shows the client things they did not know they had
Auvik is great because the collector can pull so much information without having a collector on each network segment. Some similar products (I'm looking at you, Network Glue) need a collector on each VLAN to properly get the information you want. Auvik can do this from one single collector that can be packed onto an existing server. This saves a license cost as well as guarantees uptime of the collector.
