Overall Satisfaction with Avid Pro Tools

I’m Grammy nominated audio engineer. I use Pro Tools to record, mix and master music that I record with artist. Pro Tools is the industry standard that nearly every studio uses, so even if you don’t use it as your main DAW, it’s in your best interest to learn how to use it.

Pros

  • Easy to navigate
  • Easy to use plugins
  • Easy to edit music

Cons

  • CPU usage
  • Switching to different sample rates
  • It needs to restart if it sits unused for too long.
  • Great roi
  • Ease of use
  • Short learning curve for the basics
It’s very easy to use it on a basic level. There is a learning curve for advanced stuff, but if you have a need to learn the advanced features and shortcuts then it’s not too hard. Plus, you’re probably using it to make money then anyway, so it all works out.
I’ve used reaper, FL Studio, sonar, cubase, Reason and Sony’s DAW. Pro Tools is better than all of them. And easier to use. Plus it’s easier to share sessions with other people when you use Pro Tools. Pro Tools is just more intuitive for even beginners to use. It’s just better

You need to use it for studio sessions that you plan on sending to other engineers. It makes it way easier to collaborate. Sending entire folders through wetransfer helps keep things simple. It also helps to have auto save on. It makes going back to different times in the session easy.
