Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®

We use BambooHR® to track signed employee documents, track time off for vacation, sick days, mental health days, personal days. It also lets me see when work anniversaries are coming up, or when it's time for an annual review and pay raises. BambooHR® also lets me see the whole org structure so I know who to reach out to about certain things.

Pros

  • Showing us the remaining balance of vacation days remaining
  • Showing us who is out of office that day
  • Planning vacations and time off

Cons

  • Time off requests in the Slack integration don't show who else will be out of office. You need to open BambooHR® to see it
  • Seeing the history of all time off together rather than just 1 type of time off
  • The only way to see people that aren't your direct reports is through the org chart
  • Time off requests take seconds rather than weeks
  • Tracking who is up next for a raise is very easy with the dashboard. Makes it easy to talk with our HR team about it
  • Planning work for sprints is a lot easier using the "who's out" calendar
I've never had any specific training on BambooHR®, but it's very intuitive. Even the email and Slack notifications for time off requests just have a few buttons. The interface is clean and not noisey. I've never had a problem finding what I was looking for in the interface, and generally it's very fast to onboard new employees.
The dashboard is so helpful for me to know when I should be providing feedback to the HR team about an employee's performance around their annual review. I can also see if details like an employee's work location have been updated and if there are other conversations I need to follow up with.

BambooHR® is great for quickly approving vacation time and seeing who else is out. Because of those features it's easy to quickly approve time off requests. Most of the time I can respond to my reports within the hour. A last minute time off request is no problem.

BambooHR® is really great as a people leader. As an individual contributor, the features could be a little more user friendly. Like seeing all the time off you've taken in one place.
