Use Cases and Deployment Scope

So we had issues previously with having applicant tracking not very implemented into our review process. So we would get the information from the applicants and then we would have to manually input it into a different system. And so this really made it to where it just carries over swiftly and so we don't have to really do anything manually with our applicants once they're in the organization and then we can just implement them straight into our review system.

Pros and Cons

Pros

I feel like it has automated a lot of things that used to be a more manual system for us. Before we previously had to type in really all of the information from our applicants from one system to another. And so this has really made it to where we can just click one button and it sends our onboarding to them and then they do everything digitally, which it took us a long time to get into the digital world, but now this has helped us.

Cons

I feel like BambooHR is rolling out a lot of updates all at one time, which is awesome, but I could see somebody who's maybe not as tech savvy, feeling like it's a lot of information at one time. I think the support area of the website has thorough walkthroughs, but sometimes the search functions don't really take you to exactly what you're asking about.

Return on Investment

It's greatly shortened our onboarding time. Previously we had a lot of manual processes, so this has really made it to where now it's swift. When they get hired they can do their offer letter through their onboarding and then we just get them straight into the system.

Usability

Just because there's a little complex with everything that's rolling out and so I have had to walk some people through functionality because there's just so much to click at this point. Another thing is the review process doesn't allow for ratings with a number scale, and I know we're kind of getting away from that as an industry, but with our previous system we have been rating people for their merit percent increase on their wages at the end of the year and it doesn't have the functionality to do that.

Alternatives Considered

We previously had for our reviews a system called ClearPoint. They had horrible customer service and really didn't do the functionality that BambooHR does for reviews.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think if you're a small organization and you're trying to get out of paper, this is a really good first step to doing that. I've heard from other people that are in larger organizations where they have thousands of employees that there may be better platforms, but for smaller organization it's awesome.
