Overall Satisfaction with Barracuda Email Protection

We use Barracuda Email Protection company - wide for email filtering and email management. It's important for our organization because it gives every user the access to manage their own email - blacklists, whitelists, blocking email addresses or entire domains. Most of our employees use it daily, it's become a critical part of our everyday workflow.

Pros

  • It gives employees access to manage their own email instead of reaching out to the MSP
  • The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate
  • Employees manage their own whitelists and blacklists

Cons

  • The filtering is very good, but could be just a little better. It does get 95% of the spam, but a couple get through in a week that are obviously spam.
  • We have had no issues with malware or virus's getting through our email system
  • We've saved countless hours with users being able to quickly add email senders to whitelists or blacklists through the intuitive interface
  • Users can manage every aspect of their own email - reporting suspicious email, accessing their email archive, etc...
It is just about the perfect solution. I just recently learned about the Outlook plugin so I will need to check that out.
We have used several email solutions over the years, some were bought and killed off by larger companies. Barracuda Email Protection offers a very complete solution and has all the tools that we were looking for, and our MSP offered it.

If you have your own domain-based email (you're not using free accounts like gmail or outlook.com) you will need an email management solution and Barracuda Email Protection is one of the best. it gives you all the tools you need for email management in one package. Managing spam, whitelists, blacklists and also getting easy email archiving are critical in the business world and Barracuda Email Protection has all those tools in one convenient package.
