Working with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

We use Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT for Budget Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Reporting. The fact that it's cloud-based makes it more accessible, provides better security, and is more scalable. The reporting features are much easier to run in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT than before and easier to read. I will say, however, I still prefer the database view of the journal entries. For Accounts Payable, the system would alert you to a duplicate invoice before you entered all the information. That doesn't happen with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT. Hopefully, as they continue to make improvements, this will be one of them.

The system does a good job with ensuring we are prepared for audits. It's helpful with separating restricted and unrestricted funds. It assists with keeping our internal controls strong. The security of the system gives everyone confidence in the integrity of the data. As mentioned before, the reporting features are great.

It has been helpful when providing reports to our constituents. They are getting a good understanding of their financial data in real time. The budget reports are great for tracking spending across all our departments and have been helpful for the managers to see how they're performing on a monthly basis. We hope to have more interactions with assisting the managers in understanding their reports.
