Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Used for webinar-type of programs to engage alumni and students. Allows communities to meet virtually in place of meeting in person.

Pros and Cons

Broadcast and recording feature.
Session registration and capturing who attends.
Various speaker/presenter layout options.
Moderator and presenter functions.

Sometimes speaker video and audio appear out of sync.
If I’m using from a small screen on browser, it’s hard to see and click on certain things.
All functionality on computer has never worked for me.
Chat box has frozen on me several times.

Return on Investment

Has provided access to hundreds of constituents to participate [in] programs that they would have not been able to do otherwise.
Has elevated quality and flow of programs to showcase speaker and presenter in a way that puts focus on them and the content.

I have had issues with recordings and being able to use certain buttons. Also, not clear on whether the app works better than browser. BlueJeans Events at times requires people to restart [their] computer and/or browsers.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom, Zoom Events, Zoom Video Webinar and Microsoft Teams

I still use Zoom for a lot of things because it feels more user friendly on both the front and back end. BlueJeans Events is great on how it captures attendance as well as how polish[ed] it looks with speaker window and its various features.

BlueJeans Events is great for formal events that need to have a more controlled environment. Also events with big attendance not requiring video option for participants. A lot of time speakers say that they want to see their audience or other faces when they’re speaking. This what makes us opt for basic BlueJeans or Zoom.
