Overall Satisfaction with BMC AMI Ops
We use BMC AMI Ops extensively as our main monitor tool for the IBM Mainframe environment. It allows us to gather meaningful insights about the various subsystem components (DB2, CICS) as well as the zOS operating system. It also helps us into proactively monitoring our systems through its alerting mechanism.
Pros
- Provides proactive automation for problem detection and resolution using smart alarms
- Optimizing DB2 performance
- Improving efficiency with the management of a large of z/OS resources through a single view and control
Cons
- Minimize complexity in the upgrade process of the various product components
- First level support responses should be able to address a problem more effectively
- Enhance interoperability between the CICS and DB2 components of the suite.
- Identify the root cause of a problem in minutes instead of hours
- Reduced CPU consumption by 5% due to zIIP offload
- Provides valuable insights for capacity planning efforts
They have reduced complexity in managing our environment and allowed us to optimize our systems in order to achieve the required SLAs.
The stack is directly competitive to those solutions offering a broad list of capabilities with a unified interface and intuitive experience.
