Overall Satisfaction with Bonterra EveryAction

We use Bonterra EveryAction for our individual fundraising efforts. We receive donations through the Bonterra EveryAction donate form embedded on our website, along with sending out newsletters, targeted emails, event signups, and more with the automation feature. We also use Bonterra EveryAction to make repots so we can track lapsed donors, LYBNT donors, and more, for fundraising campaigns.

Pros

  • The moves management action plans have been very helpful while setting up our individual fundraising framework. Allowing us to track everything in one place
  • The reports are extremely helpful when dissecting different segments of our donor base, including HNWI, LYBNT, etc

Cons

  • The automation feature doesn't always send out emails automatically. Sometimes I have to pause the workflow and activate it again to get it to send, which is frustrating
  • While there are useful tutorials currently on the Bonterra EveryAction page I believe they could be updated and more could be posted to go over more functionality of Bonterra EveryAction
  • Since using the MMAPs to help with our individual fundraising framework, we have seen an increase in donor-advised fund donations
  • We used to use a different software for newsletters but having the capacity to send newsletters in automations and through targeted email has it made much easier, since that, along with our donation records, etc, are all in once place now
Bonterra EveryAction is usually available when I need it. If I have an issue with a certain functionality, the Bonterra EveryAction support team responds very quickly and has been extremely helpful at solving a variety of issues I have had. Sometimes, when I'm building an email in the automation workflow, the page will glitch out and delete the entire email I've built, which is extremely annoying.
Bonterra EveryAction has allowed our organization to be much more intentional and strategic with our communications, fundraising, and marketing strategy. Now that we can track conversions, clicks, etc, in marketing materials such as newsletters, we are able to see which campaigns are effective with certain donor segments and which campaigns are less effective.

Bonterra EveryAction is a good CRM to use if your company has institutional fundraisers, grants, and individual fundraising, as it is suited to manage the processes that go along with all of those. I've heard that SalesForce has more functionality than Bonterra EveryAction, but I think that Bonterra EveryAction has plenty to learn and is extremely useful.
