Overall Satisfaction with Bonterra Network for Good

We used Network for Good as our donor CRM. There were many features we liked; mainly, we could easily see whether the donor received the communication and whether they engaged with it.

Pros

  • Product Development.
  • Customer Service.
  • Listening & fixing/adding product features.

Cons

  • Affordability
  • We were able to put donors in groups, which saved time when segmenting emails.
  • We were able to see if a donor opened the email and where they clicked, which helped us design more strategic emails.
  • We were able to see how much each email raised, which helped us evaluate things like subject line, time of day, day of the week, etc.
Yes, we found that Network for Good did a great job of helping us raise and track donations. The communications tools were integrated into the software, which made a big difference - we were able to see how donors preferred to communicate and then change/improve our strategy based on those results. We were also able to track donations and evaluate our fundRaising campaigns based on the results. One thing we enjoyed about Network for Good is that we had a go-to person who could help us, and this person would listen to our ideas and send them to the development team. This made us feel valued and like we were a part of the decision-making.
There is no perfect all-in-one product that works for every organization. We enjoyed using Network for Good. I am giving it a 9 because the cost was out of our range, and the peer-to-peer options (at the time) were limited. We were not able to make it work for our peer-to-peer event. We also weren't thrilled with the online forms. However, the donation pages, donor profiles, and communication tools were excellent.
The main difference, in my opinion, was that at Network for Good we had a representative who helped us when we couldn't solve a problem ourselves. At Bloomerang, I had to go through several channels to reach someone. (Once I did, we haven't had an issue since.) We like Bloomerang's products (Qgiv - Bloomerang Fundraising) and the communications tools. We wish Bloomerang had texting as Network for Good did. Ultimately, though, we have found that FundraiseUp has the best donation page option for our organization.

We genuinely liked NFG and would've stayed if it were at a different price point. As a nonprofit, we often have to make difficult decisions about pricing, and this was one of them. We enjoyed using it for donor management and communications. Unless they've upgraded, I'd say we had to use an outside service for Peer-to-Peer fundRaising, but otherwise it was a good tool.
