Overall Satisfaction with Carta

We use it as go to platform for stock option management. Without it I am not sure how we would achieve that. I believe this product actually brings a lot of value to any startup.

Pros

  • Clear display of ownership / stock options
  • Education on the topic of ownership
  • Displaying future dates of when stock options mature

Cons

  • Technical side of education could be explained more simply
  • International support for taxes and other events linked to stock options
  • Clear insight into ownership
  • Clear insight into future stock option grants and unlocks
Because it is simple to use, I have never experienced any issues or bugs while using it and I have not heard anyone else having issues with it either. It simply works.

Did implementation of Carta go as expected?

Would you buy Carta again?

Yes

Any startup that has raised VC capital or has a somewhat complex ownership structure should look into investing into Carta. It makes your life so much easier.

If you are a startup with just a couple employees and no VC capital, I would argue that maybe it is not needed.
