Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

It is being used for our entire companies payroll. It replaced an archaic system where we were tracking time with physical punch sheets. It allows us to have an accurate punch in time and ensures the correct employee is punching in via fingerprint scanning. It has been a smooth implementation.
  • The app is very intuitive for employees to see their schedule.
  • Integration with time clock scanner is very smooth.
  • Easy for the manager to adjust time as needed.
  • When employees ask for days off, give the option for an unpaid day off (otherwise manager has to go in and delete unwanted vacation hours).
  • Shift rotation set up for scheduling is not super intuitive.
  • Use another program then Silverlight so Chrome compatibility is enabled.
  • I took over scheduling and payroll from the previous manager so I can not speak to the increased efficiency of how payroll is processed.
  • I would imagine it is a positive ROI due to less time spent but I cannot confirm.
In the past, we have actually had to manually update certain things, unfortunately. For example, in our province after 5 years of service employees are entitled to vacation accruing at 6%. We had to manually update that. Additionally, we had an employee who's pay did not increase after the minimum wage was increased in our province. We had to manually adjust accordingly.
In regards to hiring, our company is quite small and employees are tenured for very long. We are currently not interested in hiring so I cannot comment on how Dayforce has influenced that. I have been quite pleased with scheduling, however, occasionally we also change compensation for our employees and it has been very smooth.
Previously, we had to tally all hours manually, then phone in payroll. This current system saves us multiple steps which is quite nice. It is definitely a bonus having everything in one application (both for time efficiency and for accuracy sake). I am very pleased with the product we use.
Very well suited for large companies where managers are overseeing multiple employees. In our specific scenario, we have a small staff and we could most likely get away without all the online features of requesting shifts off, etc. Just due to the fact that I am in contact with all the staff on a daily basis.
