Overall Satisfaction with Cisco 1000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 1000)
We use the Cisco 1000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 1000) as secure edge routers across our branch locations in [...], Australia. These devices are the edge connection point between the venue and the data centre. The device sends around 500Mb of data daily via a SD-WAN solution. We utlise the dual WAN feature with 4G LTE as the backup.
Pros
- Firewall Capabilities
- Configuration Deployment
- Automated fail-over between WAN and LTE
Cons
- Dual power supply
- Missing voice gateway functions
- Smaller VPN tunnel scale
- Less time sending techs to site for internet relayed issues
- Ease of configuration deployment over the wire
- Firewall functionality included
Not taking anything away from the Juniper, as they are both great products, but the Cisco 1000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 1000) is an all round good SD-WAN unit providing the ability to invoke mass deployment, incorporates a catalyst switch, has a user friendly GUI, dual WAN options (again, very important to us) and is cost effective.
