Overall Satisfaction with Cisco ASA
As per my knowledge and experience, Cisco ASA is best for VPN, routing, and nating. they provide you basic security. I am working on ASA 5525 for the last 2 years and using it for the site-to-site VPN, nat, and routing. If you need deep security then you will have to go with Cisco firepower services because Cisco ASA provides you only till layer 4 security, and a little bit option in layer 7 security.
- We can use the nat in different ways, you can modify it accordingly.
- Easy to configure site to site vpn and routing.
- Helpful and lots of documentation and training videos which helps you to configure and implementation .
- Very helpful technical support and sla.
- Easy configuration Through CLI.
- Easy commands.
- Bad ASDN. Many times it hangs during the configuration.
- No security for layer 7.
- Easy to configure and easy to remember commands will help you in downtime.
- Highly experienced Technical support guys will help you for configuration and implementation.
- Less cost.
I don't thin[k] any basic firewall in this budget is better then Cisco ASA. ASA provides you lots of option[s] in vpn, nat and this is very easy to configure. This is not complected firewall. Beginner network also can configure this and handle this. No downtime is main advantage of this firewall.
