Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Board Series

We utilized the Cisco Board Series in 10 out of our 36 operational Cisco powered rooms. These devices allow our students, staff, faculty, and residents to not only collaborate from countries away but also to collaborate in person. The product allows for them to whiteboard on different dental case issues and also allows them to annotate over xrays and pans for a better teaching methodology.

Pros

  • Small space collaborations
  • Seamless wireless sharing
  • Whiteboarding

Cons

  • The pen tips fail relatively quickly
  • Tac responses tend to require more work
  • Harder to replace then other devices
  • The Cisco Board Series has allowed us to improve spaces that weren't smart in the past
  • Students collaborate more in groups
  • Negatively when they break and aren't on smart net the replacement of them is difficult
The Cisco Board Series has less bugs and far less complications within our institution then the AnyConnect software. Users are able to work with the board series easier and with less training. AnyConnect will go down and prevent users from properly being able to connect to the campus VPN, which hurts the charting ability from home.
TAC is not helpful when it comes to the Cisco Board Series going down, they are less than understanding when it comes to you doing prior work to fix before contacting them. The last TAC case I submitted took 4 different times to finally get the board properly replaced, I was sent 3 broken boards due to them no longer producing the old series.
90% of my users are able to self train and resolve issues that appear with the boards while they use them. They are self-explanatory and less likely to break.

Do you think Cisco Board Series delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Board Series's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Board Series live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Board Series go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Board Series again?

Yes

The Cisco Board Series is great for situations where 3-4 people in person can connect and collaborate on issues. The Cisco Board Series in my institution is flawless for tutoring. We have faculty sessions daily that allow for the students to present their screens with the questions they are unable to resolve alone. The board is a better use for multiple people within the room to see the same information as it's presented and also to share whiteboarded notes into predetermined spaces.
