Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points

Cisco Access Point
We have Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points 9166 and they are great. They have some great AI integration that helps with client roaming, and authentication. They are very quick and offer multiple deployment choices. The great thing is you have access to deploy these within the Meraki cloud, which has lots of benefits in itself, or you can deploy them with a controller based system. These APs are at the forefront of enterprise wireless, and I would suggest them to anyone who needs a serious wireless infrastructure.

  • These are great even though they are a bit pricy
  • They are very reliable
  • They are easy to manage and deploy which helps on time usage for me
Really these APs are great, lots of performance options. The worst part about them is the price.
I think I cant give it a 10 because we haven't truly used this functionality yet.
Within a day or so. They are very easy to deploy on pre set up networks. I ordered about 50 of them and had them all deployed and the old wireless infrastructure removed within about a week.

They are great in small to large deployments. They may be a bit overkill (the 9166's specifically) for home offices though. I would say that they should be used for deployments that are 2000sq ft or larger/ more than 30 active clients at a time.
