Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

I think we have faced a couple of bug issues, but in that we got a couple of latency issues in the network and then definitely we raised tech cases with Cisco and then we update the software and it's good now.

Pros

  • It's far better than 2960's and all that. What I can say and the good advantage is like if you're using 9200's we can use it as a stack switches, which is a good advantage for us.

Cons

  • It's costly.
  • Sometimes, but we normally get the support from Cisco, which is very good and they always support us in all that case, so it's always have a good impact to us till now.

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst Switches again?

Yes

This is a very good product for the campus design and I would not suggest Cisco Catalyst Switches, Access Switches like on the data center side because we're using Nexus out there. So Nexus is recommended on data center side, but if you're talking about branch offices and campus network, I think Cisco Catalyst Switches are better. It's getting me now.
