Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Intersight
I have used Intersight to deploy/install/configure Cisco UCS, UCS chassis, stand-alone servers and HyperFlex
Pros
- Details on which step it is currently at during a HyperFlex installation
- Showing errors and error details
Cons
- It is very difficult to troubleshoot issues within Intersight without involving Cisco support
- No access to Fabric Interconnect to test connectivity or configurations
- Cannot change IP address of Fabric Interconnects without un-claiming them and unconfiguring them back to UCS mode.
- When Cisco changed Intersight interface, it made me have to go back and relearn the interface as all of the items I was used to were either moved or missing from easy access.
It has added another level of complexity to my current knowledge base. If I was new to any of the things Intersight can manage then it would be a great tool to help intergrate Cisco but if you already have experience it only adds another layer of information to learn and maintain. It has not saved me any time.
