Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Intersight
It is nice to have 1 management console for multiple servers, server chassis, and devices. I feel the price is a little high and the different levels of licensing can be confusing. It is nice you can see vulnerabilities in firmware on certain license levels, advantage and up, I believe.
Pros
- Vulnerability Notification
- 1 pane of glass for management
- compatible with lots of Cisco products
Cons
- Confusing Licensing
- High price for some licensing levels
- Not all products integrated/supported yet
- It is positive for a few people being able to manage a lot of hardware
- It does put the management in the cloud, which some could argue is a security vulnerability.
- It is difficult to move hardware from Intersign managed to standalone.
Intersight can be used to monitor and not make changes, which is great because we want manual updates at times, not automatic updates.
We have saved many hours of time by not having to login to multiple management consoles. Having the vulnerability notification is also very helpful.
We have not connected other applications with Intersight but we will look into this.
