Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Intersight

We use Cisco Intersight to manage the UCS servers. It solves the problem of managing multiple data centers via one management solution.

Pros

Cons

  • I would like to improve the software quality with new updates. I've had a lot of bugs in Cisco Intersight in the past that resulted in the entire environment coming to a halt
  • The negative thing is that we prefer to use the UCS Manager in our company because this bare metal is integrated into the FI and no extra appliance is required. SaaS is generally not viewed favorably in Germany.
  • Telling the user that they have to buy Intersight licenses even if they use UCS Manager annoys our customers.
Every time we need Cisco Intersight support it takes weeks until we get a solution. We have to change the tac 2 to 3 times every time because none of the engineers have any idea about Intersight. Cisco has not trained their engineers. one has the impression that they are often seeing Intersight for the first time.
We generate revenue through Cisco Intersight because we were able to win UCSX data center projects. Unfortunately, we lose a lot of projects due to the price because UCSX is twice as expensive as HPE servers.
Unfortunately, as a data center admin, I completely lack the knowledge about API. I would like a training course via YouTube from Cisco on how to use API to manage Cisco Intersight. If possible, several videos from the beginning for beginners.
