Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Intersight

Use Intersight to manage and monitor our large foot print of Cisco UCS blades and rack servers. It is one view dash.

Pros

  • Able to provision pools and policies and provision server workloads quickly and easily.

Cons

  • able to include third party servers and devices
  • send alerts on critical events and as resources are depleted and under utilized.
  • SaaS solution that is the best of breed.
  • easily able to alerts of pro-active errors
  • ROI is much better

I have used this products for last five years and it has evolved over time and lots of new features and additions.

Using Cisco Intersight

15 - IT side of medical and clinical infrastructure that runs on computer, network and storage both Cisco and third party. Many medical and health professionals actively monitor, configure and replace, add new devices and monitor and troubleshoot operating environment. Since the whole solution is patient centric, utmost details are considered for safety and reliability of these monitoring platforms.
5 - Since the software as a service SaaS platform (Intersight) is very efficient, less people are required and needed for every day support.

The platform has many alerts and logs that monitor various inner working and staying up and running, its been appreciated by lot of support folks.

The platform has connectivity from multiple devices and system, it has built in redundancy and reliability of operations. The data is received on management out of the band network, leaving underneath data plane keep operating.
  • Monitoring the health of overall compute devices deployed and implemented
  • Troubleshooting when there are errors or when alerts are generated.
  • Proactive fault notification and remediations. Systems monitors many devices for fault counters, informs and alerts users
  • Opens service tickets automatically when errors are generated that could lead to system failures. Example hard drive or memory failures.
  • Single dashboard view
  • Actively monitoring and troubleshooting faults and errors
  • Getting RMA and TAC service tickets automatically when things go south.
  • Generate system status for management
  • Expand to include more capacity
  • Include more proactive and remedies including systematic failures
  • Include third party storage, compute and networking gear
  • Include ability to upgrade ACI and SD-WAN.
Been using Cisco Software as a service (SaaS) platform in a production environment for a large medical and health professionals that has critical healthcare and patients care dependency.

Support team is very helpful getting system updated as needed, and vendor support is fantastic. Also get a dedicated Cisco networking engine to review and advise system health and recommendations.

Healthcare provider has an enterprise support license that includes premium support for cisco intersight. It seems lot of money initially and company leadership dwelled on it for a very long time, eventually put this to test, and so far been happy with the level of support and interworking within team to provide a good experience
