Cisco Meraki Go is good but regular Meraki is better
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki Go
We use Cisco Meraki Go to run all of our remote offices. Cisco Meraki Go allows us to centralize the management of all of our networking products under a single pane of glass. Before Cisco Meraki Go we had several networks that had been set up by different vendors. Each vendor had their own way of managing their network. Cisco Meraki Go allowed us to centralize our management.
Pros
- Centralized management for several sites
- Alerting for components with issues
- Easy to setup
Cons
- VPN setup is a bit of a pain
- Logging doesn't work very well
- Sometimes it is difficult to see where the issues are occurring on the network.
- We were able to reduce the amount of effort that went into maintaining our network infrastructure.
- Cisco Meraki Go's centralized network management tool allowed us to easily manage network licenses.
- Licensing is expensive in comparison to other networking tools.
We were able to set up and deploy a couple of networking sites over a weekend and then manage everything out of a single pane of glass. We realized that we were missing a license. Purchasing a license required us to go through a reseller and this process took several days to complete. We were still in the 30 day activation window before the device stopped working. Cisco Meraki Go works great as long as you are paying for the licensing.
Everything Cisco Meraki Go works together in a seamless pane of glass. Everything is integrated and we are able to detect issues as they come up. Even if an SD-WAN or an access point is misconfigured we can still access the device and reconfigure it through the web interface without being on site.
I would use Cisco Meraki Go for small business needs. I would rather use the full Cisco Meraki system for anything more than five people. Cisco Meraki Go is cheaper but regular Meraki is far more robust.
