Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points
The model that I'm talking about, we use it wireless throughout the world for joining our internal PCs, third party people that may come in and want pure internet as well as other devices.
Pros
- It does very well at a wireless level for most of our laptops now use wireless. They don't use copper connections and that's throughout the world. We've got in the MR. We've probably got 350 devices in the MR model.
Cons
- I know it's always been enhanced at the moment, so more analytics to make it easier to diagnose the faults using other various Cisco products as an add-on.
- It's had a lot of positive impact. We don't have to run and have larger switches for copper-based products anymore because one access point can have multiple connections to other devices.
Apart from the initial setup of generally about two minutes, so we'll obtain IP address internally and five minutes to set it up on a switch level, it's very easy and generally it's up on the dashboard within five minutes ready to be used.
We were more on a Cisco Wireless Controller set up, which takes a lot longer to control and that's why we've actually gone through a cloud-based product, which is very easy compared with the old traditional way that we used to have. It's more ease of software. They've got very similar features, but it's easy to set up and maintain into the future.
