Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MV
Cisco Meraki MV provides clear recordings of events in every area of our building irrespective of light source, means even at night when we rely on office lights. The ease of use in browsing through time frames to find relevant even that we are after is amazingly quick. The interface is even easy to use that even our non tech staff member breeze through with minimal guidance. Highly recommended.
Pros
- Clarity of video
- Quality of data provided
- Reliability
Cons
- Data compression
- More education on how to use complex features
- Bit on the expensive side
- Value of service is good
IT is easy to configure as it can copy config across devices. Having multiple campuses that are geographically disperse we find setting up the Meraki MV to be easy. We normally copy the config from one of the campus where we are going to use it. We can then send it to our facilities team for installation then the minute it is plugged it it worked straightaway.
The integration is seamless. Our organisation uses cisco meraki in our IT comms infrastructure which means that our firewall, switches, routers and access points are all from cisco meraki. Integrating Cisco Meraki MV fits in nice and easy as they natively work together. We are in the stage of trialling of processing data we captured to use it in our data warehouse.
We have used generic CCTV devices and what we find is that cisco meraki mv video recording quality if top notch, automatic video capture quality enhancement is really good, integration with different devices and software is easy, deployment is a breeze due to the capability to copy config across multiple devices.

Using Cisco Meraki MV
200 - Cisco Meraki MV cameras are primarily installed and setup across six school campuses. The primary business function is for providing duty of care by ensuring safety through monitoring and visibility. We have been advised that the updated version of the MV can help us provide head counts on areas that it is monitoring and we are keen to give this feature a go.
3 - Cisco Meraki MV is a low maintenance device and does not really require a high end level 3 systems or networking engineer to maintain. Once it is setup and configured properly it is basically a set and forget. The maintenance bit you will basic monitoring skills like attention to details and capability to crop video segments, save, organise videos, retrieve and send.
